Happy New Year! Many of us start the new year by saying hello to the new. It's a time full of great potential, of great hope for better things to come.

However, for the new and better things to come, we must make room for their arrival. Have you taken the time to get rid of the old? It's just like buying new furniture. To make room for the new furniture, we must get rid of the old furniture.

This Monday, January 9th, is a perfect time to say goodbye to the old. It is the first full moon of 2012. I utilize a very simple ritual on the full moon.

1) On a piece of paper, write down all the things you would like released.

2) Outside, in something you can safely set a small fire, place the piece of paper. (I have a large area of gravel where I use a bowl fashioned out of heavy duty foil).

**Please make sure that you are utilizing a safe area where there will be no fire hazard created.**

3) As you visualize white light entering through your crown chakra (the crown chakra is located at the top of your head), flowing through your body, and exiting through the bottom of your feet, recite this Invocation -

"God, Archangels, Angels, Masters, and Guides, please be present during this ritual and lend your help to release all those things that no longer serve me or my highest good. I ask that these things be released into the loving energy of the universe, to be brought to the highest light to be transmuted. I ask that space be created for the positive and best things to enter and be present in my life for 2012. As I speak, so it is."

4) Light the paper on fire. With love, understanding, and gratitude in your heart, watch the paper burn all the way out while mentally saying goodbye. It's important to be in a space of gratitude, understanding that those things served purpose in your life

5) After you are sure that the paper and embers are fully burnt out, thank all those spiritual beings who were present during the ritual.

6) If you need to dispose of the ashes, make sure everything has burnt out completely. Then take the ashes and put them in a bag. Dispose of them outside of your home - do not bring them inside your home. You just said goodbye to all those things!

7) Move forward confidently in 2012, knowing that better things are on their way and 2012 will be your best year yet!!

Here's to 2012 being the year that all of your wishes are fulfilled!!
